Persons and companies can be clients of a matter
Every matter can have one or more persons or companies. Persons and companies involved in a matter are added as matter entities.
A person or a company that is part of the matter entities can be identified as a client of that matter. Clients are persons or companies with whom the law firm has a solicitor-client relationship for a specific matter. Client relationships in Nojumi exist within matters. In other words, a person can be a client in one matter and not a client in another matter.
Typically a solicitor-client relationship is formed when the following two steps have been completed:
- a conflict search has been completed and the results were clear
- you and the client have entered into a retainer agreement with respect to the matter
