Matters in Nojumi

Your files and cases in Nojumi are referred to as matters.

What are matters?

In Nojumi, we refer to your files or cases as "matters". A matter is a client file requiring you or someone at your office to complete some work. 

Practice Area and Matter Type

Every matter must belong to one matter type and consequently one practice area. Matter types are subcategories of practice areas.

Matter Display

Every matter has a matter number and a matter description. Matter number and the matter description, along with the client's name, make up the matter display.

Matter Status

Every matter has a matter status. The matter status is meant to help you keep track of your pending, open, closed, and aborted matters. 

Matter Invoices

Every matter has the ability to keep track of time, flat fees, and disbursements of the matter, and to issue invoices for the matter.

Matter Trust Ledgers

Every matter has the ability to keep track of all incoming and outgoing funds into the trust account and to produce a trust ledger.

Matter Documents

Every matter has a documents tab where you can generate documents, e-sign documents, store documents in the Nojumi Drive, or in the Upload Bins.

Matter Forms

Every matter has a number of forms you can complete to provide Nojumi with information about your matter. 

Matter Communications

You can send emails and text messages to the people involved in a matter right from within the matter. You can configure communication templates to quickly generate sophisticated communications.

Matter Dates and Calendar

You can use the appointment booking feature on every matter to book appointments with clients and others in the matter by sharing a link with them. You can also add tickler dates to take advantage of Nojumi's tickler system.

Matter Conflict Search

You can complete conflict searches in a matter, and produce a conflict search report. In the event of a conflict, you can change the status of the matter to aborted.

Matter Updates

You can add matter updates to a matter to document the latest developments in a matter. You can also use the updates feature to mention colleagues and have a conversation with them about the matter.

Matter Manager

You can add one or matter managers for every matter.
