Overriding an ID Verification Failure

When ID Verification fails, you have the option of overriding the failure

From time to time, ID Verification may fail in circumstances where you believe you have sufficient information about the client to consider their ID verified. This can, for example, happen when Data Source Verification fails, which is not necessarily an indication that the person is not who they say they are, but rather that we were not able to match the provided information with the data verification sources. In such circumstances, you would override the failure, which would change the overall status of the ID Verification to Passed.

To override an ID Verification failure

  1. Browse the profile page of the person whose ID you are trying to verify
  2. Click on ID verification failed shown in red at the top left of the page

  3. On the Verification Summary tab determine what has failed and go to the relevant tab

  4. On the relevant tab, click on Override results

  5. In the modal that appears, type the reason for overriding the failure and click on Override result.

  6. Once Override results is pressed, the ID verification will change to the Pending Approval status, and a record of the manual override will be shown as follows:

  7. Once the ID Verification is status is changed to to Pending Approval, you can proceed with approving it.
