Learn how to customize your retainer agreements in Nojumi with fee schedules and service schedules
Service Schedule
A service schedule is a pre-defined schedule attached to the retainer agreement that sets out the scope of the services offered to the client. Service Schedules are particularly helpful for matters that are completed on a block fee (flat fee) basis as they reduce confusion between the firm and the client about the scope of the services. A service schedule typically has two sections: 1) services included, and 2) services not included. Service schedules limit your liability as they prevent a client from alleging that certain work was to be completed by your office when you never understood that work to be part of the retainer.
Fee Schedule
A Fee Schedule is an addendum to a Retainer Agreement between a lawyer and a client that sets out how fees are charged for the matter. Fee schedules are usually used for matters where fees are being charged in stages, or where the fee is dependent on other factors that need to be explained, such as in a contingency basis matter.
