Bank Transfers in Nojumi
Bank transfers in Nojumi reflect transfers of funds from one of your bank accounts to another bank account
A bank transfer is a transfer from one of your bank accounts to another bank account, typically related to a matter. A bank transfer is a single transaction that appears in both bank accounts. This means when a bank transfer is added, a withdrawal will show in the source bank account and a corresponding deposit will appear in the destination bank account, but the withdrawal and the deposit are both part of the same transfer transaction. When the transfer is deleted, the withdrawal in the source bank account and the deposit in the destination bank account are deleted.
How to add a Bank Transfer in a Matter
There are two ways to transfer funds belonging to a matter from a bank account to another bank account:
- Request & Approval Method - This method is often used by firms where a user requests the transfer and another user is in charge of approving and completing the transfer. This method is also good when you want to add expected transfers that are supposed to be completed in the future.
- Direct Transfer Method - This method circumvents the request-approval process and directly adds the transfer. This method is often used when there is one user involved in the completion of the transfer, and when the transfer is being completed in the moment or when it has already been completed but it was not recorded.
Request & Approval Method
To request a bank transfer in a matter
- Browse the Matter Transactions Page click on Add Transfer Request and select Request Bank Transfer

- Select the source account, the destination account and enter the amount and the description of the transfer and click on Add Bank Transfer Request

To approve and complete a bank transfer request
- Browse the Bank Transfer tab of the Pending Transfers Page
- Click on Actions next to the bank transfer request that you wish to approve and click on Complete Transfer

- Enter the reference number, if you have one. Ideally, you should be completing the transfer in your bank at the same time. When you complete the transfer, your bank gives you a reference number for confirmation. When you enter the reference number here, we reconcile the transaction automatically by matching the transaction with the bank feed.
Direct Transfer Method
To directly add a bank transfer
- Browse the Matter Transactions Page and click on Add Transfer and select Bank Transfer

- Select the source account, the destination account, and enter the amount and the description of the transfer, and click on Add Bank Transfer
